Our process begins with an initial consultation (phone or in person) to allow us to learn more about your business, needs, pain points, goals, and, most importantly, to determine if we are a good fit for each other.
This initial consultation is followed by an on-site meeting to take a deeper dive into your business objectives and to discuss how best to move forward. After we are in agreement about the goal-posts we are heading toward, we will present strategy options tailored to accomplish your objectives.
Once we are engaged with you, we will begin to work on solutions.
Note that, occasionally, if we both agree that there is tactical work to be done (research, interviews, competitive analysis, etc.), we will suggest a small paid diagnostic to root out the answer to the question “what exactly is needed here?” which will be delivered to you as a written report with recommendations — along with the full project proposal.

We refer to our Brand Study work as “building the foundation” of a business. Even companies that have been in business for years -- or even decades -- may not have a solid foundation upon which to build their brand.
After a kickoff meeting with your team, we take a deep dive into your brand. We study your brand attributes, mission statement, customer profiles, logo, taglines, typography, color palettes, photography, and much more. We look at your industry vertical, competitors, customer perception, and customer journey. We then come back to you with a detailed presentation and a plan for your path forward.
With a solid foundation, all of your initiatives (whether it’s marketing, creative, digital, email, catalog, targeted postcards, or any initiative that’s going to increase your revenues) will be aligned and seamless. Our founders, Rick Binger and Rick Ragusa, have a combined 60+ years in the omni-channel marketing world.
Rick has over 30 years experience in strategic creative thinking. He cut his teeth working for Pentagram in the 1980s designing and producing the award-winning Nature Company catalog. He moved on to form his own agency – Binger Catalog Marketing – in 1991. There, he worked with many top retailers including Design Within Reach, Art.com, Restoration Hardware, Benefit Cosmetics, Nickelodeon, The Oakland Raiders, Discovery Toys, and Road Runner Sports, to name just a few. Rick later served as Co-Founder and Chief Content Officer at Catalog Spree (an app providing paperless catalog shopping); Vice President of Creative at SysIQ (an ecommerce development agency); Director of Creative at Gump’s (a famed San Francisco retailer); and Executive Vice President of Creative at CohereOne (a catalog strategy agency).
Rick Ragusa specializes in marketing strategy with a focus on omni-channel retail, digital and direct marketing, and the customer experience. He is a data-driven marketing leader with 30 years experience including P&L ownership of the direct-to-consumer retail channel. Rick has contributed to the success of some of the best brands in omni-channel retail and direct marketing, including Williams-Sonoma, Smith & Hawken, Serena & Lily, Balsam Brands, and California Closets. Rick leverages the analytic layer to understand what marketing mix profitably drives customer engagement. Rick enjoys working with high-growth, small to mid-sized brands providing strategic guidance and change management to advance their capabilities and goals.
